Part Time Jail Control Room Operator

POSITION TYPE: Hourly, Non-Exempt The City of Cape Girardeau is accepting applications for one part-time Jail Control Room Operator. JOB DUTIES: This position is responsible for monitoring jail security systems, operating electronic security controls, maintaining communication with correctional officers and jail staff, and assisting with the safe and secure operation of the department's jail facility.

Applicants must possess strong communication and multitasking sills and be comfortable using computers and various software applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

On the date of employment, applicants must: Possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent and not have any convictions for felonies. Applicants selected to participate in the hiring process will be required to complete an oral interview. Applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Finalist will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug screen.

The City is seeking to fill one part-time position: primarily assigned to the evening shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) Qualified applicants must be available to work both weekdays and weekends, with availability on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday evenings strongly preferred The position offers some flexibility in scheduling, with approximately 16 to 24 hours per week.
