Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Join SSTARBIRTH , a specialized residential substance use disorder treatment program dedicated to helping pregnant, postpartum, and parenting women build healthy, stable futures for themselves and their children.

We are seeking a Board-Certified Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to provide psychiatric services and consultation to residents receiving treatment in our supportive, trauma-informed residential setting.

What You'll Do

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, evaluations, and diagnoses. Develop treatment recommendations and individualized care plans. Prescribe medications and provide ongoing medication management. Educate residents regarding mental health conditions, medications, and treatment options. Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team members to support resident care and recovery.

Provide psychiatric consultation and treatment recommendations to clinical staff as needed. Order, review, and interpret laboratory testing when clinically indicated. Maintain availability for medication-related questions and clinical consultation. Connect residents with community mental health resources and supports.

Provide nursing support and consultation to our on-site childcare program. Why Join SSTARBIRTH? What We're Looking For

Licensed APRN or CNS in Rhode Island. Board Certification in Adult Psychiatric Mental Health. Experience working with individuals affected by mental health and/or substance use disorders preferred. Knowledge of trauma-informed care and co-occurring disorders. Strong communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Passion for working with pregnant, postpartum, and parenting women in recovery.
