Job description
Our client is seeking a Audit Partner / Director to join the Port Elizabeth firm,
- Lead and sign off on statutory audits in accordance with IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, ISAs, and the Companies Act
- Ensure full compliance with IRBA standards, quality control (ISQM 1 & 2), and ethical requirements
- Oversee audit planning, execution, review, and finalisation for complex and high-risk engagements
- Act as Engagement Partner on key clients
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on audit, governance, risk, and regulatory matters
- Manage client portfolios, including fee negotiations and engagement economics
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within audit and assurance services
- Contribute to firm-wide growth strategies and cross-selling of advisory/tax services
- Represent the firm at industry events, client meetings, and professional forums
- Ensure effective risk management across the audit portfolio
- Manage independence, conflict checks, and engagement acceptance processes
- Address audit quality findings, internal reviews, and regulatory inspections
- Lead, mentor, and develop audit directors, managers, and professional staff
- Drive a high-performance culture, including succession planning Requirements
- CA (SA)
- Registered Auditor with the IRBA
- Minimum 5 years in a management role within a auditing firm
- Experience managing large and complex audit portfolios
- Strong exposure to listed and/or large private entities (sector dependent)
