Qualifications

Education

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.. Licensure: Must have an active New York State medical license. Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology. Experience: Prior experience in outpatient ophthalmology, surgical ophthalmology, or multi-specialty practice settings is preferred but open to qualified candidates.

Soft Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Provide routine care such as vision testing and prescribing glasses and contact lenses. Perform corrective surgeries, such as repairing injuries and corneas and removing cataracts. Perform advanced surgical procedures, such as keyhole or laser surgery. Diagnose and treat eye diseases and injuries. Manage emergency eye clinics, outpatient clinics, or other specialist eye clinics.
