Supported Living Specialist

Position Overvie w: JFK manages a semi-independent residential site for nine individuals with mental illness in the Germantown section of the city. Our Supported Living Specialist support residents by: Providing a full range of supportive care necessary to meet the resident's clinical, social, health and economic needs Counseling residents on all Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) and nurturing ongoing independence to sustain ADL's Fostering an atmosphere that maintains the highest levels of essential life supports Assisting when emergency services and crisis intervention is needed Our Supported Living Specialist should: Desire to embrace the philosophy and objectives of JFK Behavioral Health Exercise good judgement to ensure respect and fairness are the foundation of resident interactions Be a flexible creative problem-solver that can adapt to evolving resident needs Engage with peer supportive living specialist to provide consistency in resident supports and smooth shift transitions Be comfortable navigating the city by vehicle or public transit to escort residents Training & Experience : High School Diploma or equivalent and post-high school experience working with adults who have diminished mental capacity -or- specialized training, certification, or study in human or social services Schedule : Open shifts: Friday:8am-4pm, Saturday: 8am-4pm, Saturday: 4pm-12am, Sunday: 8am-4pm and Tuesday: 12am-8am Location : Germantown neighborhood, accessible to SEPTA transit lines <div
