Data Analyst

Job Description: Level Up Talent Solutions is looking for a Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making through accurate reporting, business analysis, and actionable insights. The role will take ownership of the company’s Power BI reporting and analytics environment, including dashboards, data models, DAX measures, Power Query, and reporting outputs.

The successful candidate will work closely with Data & FP&A, Finance, Commercial, Marketing, and other business teams to translate business requirements into effective data solutions. Beyond reporting, the role will analyze performance drivers, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend ways to improve business performance through data, automation, and technology.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI & Reporting Design, develop, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards and reports. Build and optimize data models, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and reporting logic. Create clear and interactive visualizations that support business decision-making. Monitor reporting performance and improve dashboard efficiency and usability.

Ensure consistent reporting definitions, calculations, and KPIs. Serve as an internal Power BI subject-matter expert and support users across the organization. Data Analysis & Business Insights Analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, risks, and opportunities. Investigate performance changes and identify the factors driving business results.

Translate complex data into clear and actionable business insights. Develop meaningful KPIs aligned with business objectives. Provide data-driven recommendations to support Commercial, Finance, Marketing, and other teams. SQL, Data Modeling & Data Management Use SQL to extract, query, combine, and analyze data from relational databases.

Develop and maintain efficient data models for Power BI reporting. Support data integration across multiple business systems and platforms. Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve database and data-model issues. Data Quality & Governance Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between reports, systems, and underlying datasets.

Maintain documentation covering data sources, KPI definitions, calculations, DAX logic, and reporting methodologies. Ensure consistent reporting definitions across the organization. Coordinate with third-party data warehouse providers to maintain accurate and reliable databases. Proactively identify and address potential data-quality risks.

Reporting Automation & Process Improvement Identify manual and repetitive reporting activities for simplification or automation. Develop solutions that improve reporting speed, accuracy, and efficiency. Explore opportunities to use automation, AI, and emerging technologies in analytics and reporting. Support the development of a scalable reporting and analytics environment.

Stakeholder Management Understand business questions, reporting requirements, and decision-making needs. Translate business requirements into dashboards, reports, analysis, and data solutions. Present analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Manage multiple reporting and analytical priorities while meeting deadlines.

Build strong relationships across departments and proactively identify opportunities where data can add business value. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing Maintain clear documentation for dashboards, datasets, calculations, and reporting processes. Ensure critical reporting knowledge is properly documented. Provide guidance and training to users on reports and data interpretation.

Support improved data literacy and self-service reporting across the business.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Power BI Analyst, or similar analytical role. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including: DAX Power Query Data Modeling Dashboard Development Report Optimization Strong SQL skills with experience querying relational databases. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Experience working with complex datasets and multiple data sources. Ability to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and business opportunities. Strong ability to translate analysis into actionable business recommendations. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of deliverables.
