Product Development Technician II

The Product Development Technician is responsible for completing technical and lab work independently with minimal direction from a chemist or supervisor. The Product Development Technician will work to develop an area of responsibility and specialization through on the job related training. As a contributor to product development or product support teams, the Product Development Technician will be responsible, under minimal supervision, for supporting lab prototyping, testing, data analysis, and scale-up trials.

Prepare and mix coating formulations using laboratory mixing equipment. Perform drawdowns of formulations using drawdown and drying equipment. Test material properties and performance of coatings, adhesives and films. Compile results and document in laboratory electronic notebook. Analyze data and communicate results to professional staff.

Assist the chemist in preparing for pilot scale coating trials. Perform all work in compliance with laboratory environmental, health and safety rules. Adhere to Brady’s Safety, Attendance & other Company policies. Perform all other duties as assigned.
