Job description
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Millwork Engineer with 1–2 years of experience to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing shop drawings, production drawings, and technical documentation for custom millwork and cabinetry projects. This role is well-suited for candidates with a strong understanding of AutoCAD, woodworking concepts, architectural drawings, and furniture detailing, who are eager to build their career in the millwork industry.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare 2D shop drawings and detailed production drawings for custom millwork projects. Interpret architectural, construction, and interior design drawings. Create detailed drawings for cabinets, wardrobes, furniture, counters, doors, and other custom woodwork. Coordinate with senior engineers, project managers, and production teams to ensure project accuracy.
Revise and update drawings based on client feedback and internal review comments. Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), cutting lists, and hardware schedules. Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing requirements. Maintain project documentation and drawing records. Provide technical support to production and project execution teams.
Assist in resolving design and manufacturing-related issues. Key Skills & Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. 1–2 years of experience in Millwork, Furniture Detailing, CAD Drafting, or related domains. Freshers with strong technical skills and AutoCAD knowledge are also encouraged to apply.
Mandatory: Proficiency in AutoCAD. Knowledge of Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, SolidWorks, or SketchUp is an added advantage. Good understanding of woodworking materials, joinery techniques, hardware, and cabinetry. Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and CNC production is preferred. Knowledge of North American or European Millwork Standards is an added advantage. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to learn, adapt, and work in a collaborative environment.
