Field Sales Representative - Northern California

We are seeking a Field Sales Representative that will achieve goals for overall territory performance, as well as specific market and product families on a consistent basis. They will be responsible for selling products for manufacturer to business and industrial establishments by performing the duties included below.

Territory Responsibility: Northern California Location of field sales representative if flexible. Ideal candidate would be located in Northern California.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers, resellers and end users. Expected travel is 60% - 75%, both local and within designated geographical territory. In addition to planned travel, spontaneous travel may be required at the request of a customer. Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.

Develops and maintains sales material and stays current on product knowledge. Prepares presentations and product quotations Establish and nurture relationships with end user customers as well as distributors. Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity or lead generation Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.

Follows up on payments. Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules. Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts. Works with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date. Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.

Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries. Attends trade shows. Experience Desired: A minimum of 1-3+ years of experience in building material sales industry.
