Registered Nurse (RN)
Job description
Registered Nurse (RN) Southern Highlands Community Mental Health Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide medical and psychiatric nursing support to individuals with behavioral health needs. The RN will oversee LPNs who administer medications, provide oversight of residents’ day-to-day care, participate in treatment team meetings, support medical management, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across multiple programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide oversight and clinical guidance to LPNs who administer medications. Oversee the day-to-day nursing care of residents. Complete nursing assessments, screenings, and other required documentation. Carry out orders received from physicians and other authorized healthcare providers. Coordinate medical care and communicate with healthcare providers as needed.
Attend and participate in treatment team and interdisciplinary team meetings. Collaborate with clinical staff, medical providers, and other members of the treatment team. Serve as a medical liaison for individuals receiving services. Support the coordination and management of individuals’ healthcare needs. Complete nursing assessments associated with incident reports.
Conduct medication counts and help ensure medication-management procedures are followed. Provide nursing guidance, education, and staff training as needed. Provide services across programs, including Residential Services, Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment, and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT). Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation.
Perform other duties as assigned. Educational and Licensure Requirements Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of West Virginia. Behavioral health nursing experience is preferred.

Strong communication, leadership, organization, and documentation skills. Ability to provide appropriate oversight and guidance to nursing staff. Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary treatment teams. Compassionate and professional approach to individuals with behavioral health needs. Ability to coordinate healthcare services across multiple programs and settings.
