Your Front-Row Role

As a part-time Welcome Desk Associate at the Arthur J Glatfelter YMCA, you’re the first hello-and the steady, safety-minded guide-for members and guests. This role exists to keep check-ins smooth, questions answered fast, and families feeling confident the moment they walk in.

Key responsibilities

• Greet members/guests, manage check-ins, phones, and member questions
• Process memberships, program registrations, receipting, and POS transactions accurately
• Promote memberships and programs; follow up with prospects
• Support tours, shift change/closing procedures, and a clean, secure desk area
• Follow emergency procedures; assist with AED/911 response when needed

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED; 6+ months customer service or sales
• Strong computer skills (MS Office, membership/POS systems)
• Clear communication, relationship-building, multitasking under pressure
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification; bilingual English/Spanish preferred

You'll bounce between quick hellos, fast answers, and those "Which way to swim lessons?" questions-keeping the front area running like a well-timed relay. The pace can spike, but you stay steady and safety-focused, scanning the flow of the entrance so families feel secure and seen. With part-time, varying shifts (including some holidays), you can plan ahead for family-friendly flexibility and more predictable hours week to week. You'll wrap up by resetting the space and passing a crisp, confident handoff to the next teammate.

Location: Arthur J Glatfelter YMCA, 90 North Newberry Street, York, PA | Pay: $10-$12/hour.
