The Senior HR Business Partner drives our mission by working with leaders across the business to ensure Summit is a great place to work for all our employees. Our team achieves results by being adaptable, innovative, driven, collaborative and trustworthy. This role is both hands-on and strategic and provides expertise in the areas of employee relations, performance management, employee retention, coaching/development, conflict management, and ad hoc projects as necessary.

Support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department and provide administrative support to HR leadership. Promote compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable employment laws and regulations. Support employee relations activities, including investigations, documentation, disciplinary actions, terminations, and employee inquiries.

Administer employee benefits and leave programs, including Workers’ Compensation, FMLA, PFL, STD, ADA, PWFA, COBRA, and annual open enrollment. Coordinate benefits and retirement plan processes, including 401(k) enrollment and ACA tracking and reporting. Support recruitment and onboarding from requisition through hire, including background checks, credential verification, and new-hire documentation.

Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data, including employment status changes, benefits deductions, attendance, and leave information. Conduct required pre-employment screenings and maintain compliance with FCRA, Article 23-A, Justice Center, OCFS, EI, and other regulatory requirements. Assist with unemployment claims, employee engagement initiatives, and HR programs and meetings.

Coordinate Safety Committee meetings and support workplace safety and compliance initiatives. Exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential employee information and sensitive HR matters. Perform additional HR duties and special projects as assigned. EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree required. EXPERIENCE: Minumum 2 years experience as an HRBP or in handling complex employee relations matters. CERTIFICATES: PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
