Step into the spotlight as our Red Cross Instructor at the Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA (800 Village Road, Lancaster, PA) and turn training time into real-world readiness. This role exists to build lifesaving confidence while keeping every moment anchored in Safety-from the first introduction to the final skills check.

What you’ll do:

• Deliver American Red Cross classes and skill evaluations, providing clear coaching, feedback, and corrections
• Set up, inspect, sanitize, and store Red Cross course materials and equipment (manikins, AED trainers, first-aid supplies)
• Maintain accurate record-keeping, including attendance tracking and course documentation
• Manage the room with strong classroom management and group facilitation, keeping learning controlled, upbeat, and on pace
• Communicate needs and updates with strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate basic first aid and emergency response techniques to Red Cross standards

What you’ll bring:

• Active American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification
• CPR PRO Instructor certification
• Oxygen Instructor certification

You arrive with the room buzzing-tables set, gear staged, and your roster ready. After a quick check that everything is in working order, you welcome a mix of first-timers and returning participants, set expectations, and keep the pace lively while staying laser-focused on Safety. Between skill stations, you reset equipment, answer questions one-on-one, and keep the group engaged and on track. As the session wraps, you confirm documentation is complete, note any supply or equipment needs, and sync up on upcoming class times so the next training window is ready to launch.

Obtain Criminal background check, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance.
