Nurse Practitioner (Primary Care). Position Type: Part-Time / Contract. Contract Hours: 400 hours annually.

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner to provide primary and basic medical care to students at a Job Corps Center. The provider will deliver comprehensive healthcare services, including medical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, and ongoing management of health conditions. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently and collaborating with a healthcare team while providing quality care to young adults.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct physical examinations, medical assessments, and initial health evaluations. Review medical records and develop appropriate treatment plans. Diagnose and treat minor illnesses, acute conditions, and common health concerns. Provide first aid, CPR, immunizations, and preventive healthcare services. Manage chronic conditions and provide ongoing patient care.

Prescribe controlled and non-controlled medications. Provide health education and family planning services. Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation. Coordinate referrals for specialized or emergency medical care. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support student health and wellness.

Requirements

Active, unrestricted license to practice independently in Virginia. Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team. Current professional certifications and credentials as required. Professional malpractice/liability insurance and general liability coverage. Ability to comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable federal and state regulations.

Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening if required.
