Proctor/Classroom Aide for 26-27 School year

Job Summary

Duties include, but are not limited to outdoor interaction with and supervision of students during recess and lunch. In addition, this position serves as an instructional aide in the classroom, running small groups, circulating and managing students working in direct support of the teacher. This is a four hour a day, four day a week position.

Job Description / Essential Elements 3 hour per day position as playground proctor. Duties include but are not limited to supervising children during recess and lunch periods, ensuring playground rules are followed and all students are in a safe, secure environment. The position is for 180 days per year.

Requirements

/ Qualifications An AA degree is preferred with continuing education credits in early childhood development, high school graduate or equivalent is acceptable. Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a D.O.J. clearance (fingerprinting), a negative TB test, and current First Aid/CPR documentation (or plans to receive First Aid/CPR training) Comments and Other Information Mt.

Baldy School is a really fun place to work, but we take our job in serving our students and keeping them safe very seriously. This is an indoor/outdoor position which requires the ability to walk around a large playground in order to supervise students as well as assist classroom teachers and students within the classrooms.

The ideal candidate works well with children of all ages inside and outside of the classroom setting and is able to work well with and take direction from school employees. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, reach overhead, run, kneel, crouch, see to read a variety of materials as well as faraway students, and see and hear effectively to exchange information.
