Graduate Accountant

We're looking for a Graduate Accountant to join our Finance team based in Christchurch.

Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you'll support a broad range of day-to-day accounting activities, gaining hands-on experience across financial reporting, reconciliations and month-end processes. This is a great opportunity to put your accounting knowledge into practice while developing your skills within a supportive finance team.

You'll be involved in:Supporting month-end and year-end close, including journals, reconciliations and financial reporting. Preparing journals, invoices and balance sheet reconciliations. Supporting fixed asset accounting and capital expenditure reporting. Preparing and reconciling intercompany reports. Assisting with GST and FBT returns.

Providing cover for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable when required. Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies. About You. You'll thrive in this role if you have:A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, or nearing completion. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Good written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in using Microsoft OfficeA high level of professionalism and confidentialityA proactive approach and willingness to learn. Previous experience in an accounting or finance environment would be an advantage, including internship, graduate or early-career experience.What's on Offer.
