Smart Contract Engineer (Latam / US)
Job description
About the Role
Join a pioneering decentralized finance protocol that enables global users and institutions to supply, borrow, and build on open financial infrastructure. In this specialized on-chain role, you will architect, implement, and maintain the next generation of algorithmic lending and borrowing markets. You will own the full protocol lifecycle, from initial architectural design and Solidity development to rigorous invariant testing, external security audits, and production deployments.
This is a high-stakes mandate focused on building upgradeable, resilient, and adversarial-tested systems that safeguard user funds operating under real-world market stress. Most Important 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years specifically building EVM-based protocols or financial infrastructure using Solidity.
Production smart contract delivery with a proven track record of designing, deploying, and maintaining EVM contracts on live networks. Deep EVM & Solidity mastery covering contract vulnerabilities, upgrade patterns, numerical precision, state machines, gas optimization, and access control. Modern testing framework expertise (such as Foundry) across unit, integration, invariant, fuzz, and fork testing methodologies.
De. Fi primitive experience building or contributing to lending, borrowing, collateral systems, liquidations, AMMs, or vaults. AI-assisted development fluency leveraging modern tools (Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate testing, debugging, and code reviews without compromising security or engineering rigor. Strong understanding of ERC standards and common token interface conventions.
Nice to Have
Domain familiarity with major algorithmic money market architectures and lending protocol design patterns. Security audit leadership with prior experience collaborating with external security auditors and remediating complex audit findings. On-chain governance expertise including experience with timelocks, multisigs, emergency controls, and protocol pause mechanisms.
Oracle & risk infrastructure depth including hands-on experience with price feeds, liquidation engines, and credit risk modeling. Backend & indexing integration familiarity with data pipelines, indexers, APIs, or developer tooling that support on-chain applications. Personal Traits Adversarial mindset that anticipates edge cases, insolvencies, oracle failures, and systemic risks long before code reaches production.
High-agency owner who thrives in a fast-moving environment and takes end-to-end accountability for protocol security and funds safety. Security-first disciplinarian who holds an exceptionally high bar for testing coverage, code clarity, and operational runbooks. Collaborative technical communicator who can translate complex probabilistic outputs and system trade-offs to product, risk, and engineering partners.
