Abstractor/Analyst - Health Information Management

Functioning within the Health System#s mission, values, objectives, policies and procedures, the Medical Records Abstractor/Analyst abstracts and performs data entry into the computer for all medical records. S/he also analyzes medical records for deficiencies such as missing signatures, documentation or dictation in accordance with Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulation standards.

Education: A High school dipoloma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.# Associate Degree in Health Information Technology preferred. Medical terminology and medical coding training from an accredited institution is desired. Licensure/Certification:# None required. RHIT preferred. Experience:# A minimum of 6 months# previous medical record and keyboarding experience necessary.

Skills:# Competency in keyboarding, medical terminology is preferred.
