SUMMARY: The hourly Paraprofessional pay rate to work on assignment in West Shore School District is $19 per hour The Paraprofessional position will work on all student days during the school calendar year, 6.5 OR 7 paid hours per day on full school days The Paraprofessional will support students individually or in small groups in one of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, Instructional, Learning, and Life Skills OPENINGS FOR '26-'27 SCHOOL YEAR: ELEMENTARY: Newberry Elementary School Autistic Support Para (1) - 7 paid hours/day Red Mill Elementary School Life Skills 1:1 Support Para (1) - 7 paid hours/day SECONDARY: Crossroads Middle School Autistic Support Para (1) - 7 paid hours/day New Cumberland Middle School Autistic Support Para (1) - 7 paid hours/day Cedar Cliff High School Life Skills 1:1 Support Para (1) - 7 paid hours/day Red Land High School Multiple Disabilities/Autism Support 1:1 Para (1) - 7 paid hours/day Non-Paid Work Experience Para (1) - 7 paid hours/day Learning Support Para (1) - 6.5 paid hours/day Autistic Support Para (1) - 7 paid hours/day PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting students' academic, behavioral, social, and personal growth within the classroom and school environment.

Responsibilities include

Provide instructional, behavioral, and/or physical support to individual students or small groups, including on-task prompting, social skills development, and self-care assistance. Support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans by implementing accommodations and strategies as directed. Reinforce learning concepts, classroom instruction, and skill development to help students achieve their educational goals.

Work one-on-one or in small groups to provide targeted academic and behavioral support. Assist students in developing organizational, communication, problem-solving, and independent living skills. Guide students through classroom activities, monitor participation and progress, and provide feedback to instructional staff.

Promote positive student behavior and help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and school administrators to support student success. Supervise students during lunch, recess, arrival/dismissal, transitions, and other non-instructional school activities.

Foster positive relationships with students while encouraging independence, confidence, and social-emotional growth. Requirements

High school diploma and completion of Paraprofessional competency training OR Two-years of post secondary education (48 college credits) OR Associates or higher - preferred Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred CREDENTIALING : (CCRES paid clearances and TB screening) PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance PA Criminal (Act 34.
