Job description

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Drive fast, deta i led issue resolution (CPS focus): Analyse field data, failure trends, and returned parts to develop clear, well structured problem definitions and accelerate fixes that reduce downtime and improve product reliability.
  • Lead structured problem solving: Working with the PPS project leader apply and champion the 7 Step methodology, coordinating cross functional teams (Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Field) to deliver both immediate containment and durable corrective actions.
  • Act as the technical bridge to the field: Translate field insights into engineering actions and ensure clear, accurate communication back to service teams through robust, field‑ready documentation and updates.
  • Influence design for serviceability (Development focus): Represent customer and service needs early in VPI/VPC/LPR/VPCR projects, shaping designs that are easier, faster, and safer to diagnose and repair.
  • Prepare the service channel for flawless launches: Ensure spare parts availability, special tools readiness, and high‑quality manuals/diagnostics so new products are fully supportable from day one.
  • Anticipate and prevent issues proactively: Use trend analysis and field feedback to identify emerging risks early, enabling pre‑emptive actions, campaigns, or design improvements before widespread impact.
  • Deliver high‑impact project leadership: Independently lead smaller initiatives and contribute to larger programs, aligning stakeholders and driving outcomes despite ambiguity and shifting business priorities.
  • Build capability and continuous improvement: Coach engineers/technicians, improve processes and documentation systems, and strengthen knowledge sharing to elevate overall service engineering effectiveness. What we need:
  • College, university, or equivalent bachelor’s degree in engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability: Ability to interpret field and failure data, apply the 7‑step methodology, and confidently move from symptoms to root cause and robust solutions.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration and influence: Build effective partnerships with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Field teams, influencing decisions both in issue resolution (CPS) and early product design (Development).
  • Customer‑focused, serviceability mindset: Constantly represent the field and end customer—ensuring products are easy to maintain, and that documentation, parts, and tools fully support efficient service events.
  • Adaptability and ownership in a dynamic environment: Comfortably switching between reactive issue resolution and proactive development work, while leading initiatives, managing ambiguity, and delivering clear, high‑quality outputs. Good to have skills:
  • Exposure to Genset development lifecycle and validation processes
  • Familiarity with project management and change control processes
  • Office 365 knowledge (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive etc)
  • Passionate about delivering innovative, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions for power generation applications
