Data Center Facility Engineer
Job description
Key Responsibilities
Take charge of day-to-day on-site operations of data center infrastructure; perform routine data hall inspections to ensure stable and safe operation of facility systems. Follow up and drive the implementation and maintenance of Level 1–4 facility changes, ensuring compliance with established procedures and operating standards.
Participate in and execute facility change maintenance and drills; verify on site the implementation of construction steps, isolation measures and rollback conditions. Participate in regular meetings with the operator; align on daily change plans, pending issues and maintenance matters; maintain issue lists and drive process digitalization.
Respond to facility-related events based on monitoring system alarms; assist with initial handling, analysis and escalation. Perform monthly facility inspections and data-hall-level inspections; jointly inspect facility operation status and on-site management with the operator. Manage the submission and implementation of Level 3 and Level 4 changes to ensure controlled and traceable change execution.
Follow up pending issues from facility health assessments and special inspections; drive rectification and closure. Attend monthly meetings with the operator to communicate O&M status, rectification progress and future work plans. Produce facility operation daily/weekly reports as required; collect and synchronize key information such as operator on-site personnel changes.
Submit next-day work plans daily for review and confirmation based on change and maintenance plans. Assist in the compilation, optimization and Chinese-English translation of overseas data hall EOPs to enhance emergency response and cross-region execution. General Attributes Strong sense of responsibility and execution; able to adapt to on-site work and necessary duty / emergency support arrangements.
Good O&M safety awareness; familiarity with on-site safety management requirements and high-risk operation regulations is preferred. Good communication and coordination skills; able to communicate and collaborate effectively with operators, service providers and internal teams. Good service awareness and a serious work attitude.
Requirements
Associate degree or above; majors in electrical engineering, electromechanical engineering, HVAC or automation preferred. At least 2 years of data center facility O&M experience; experience in data centers or large critical infrastructure (IDC, telecom data halls, financial data halls, etc.) Familiar with the basic composition of data center power systems, including transformers, diesel generators, UPS and PDU.
Familiar with data center HVAC fundamentals, including chillers, CRAH/CRAC equipment operation status identification. Familiar with fire protection systems; able to identify fire alarms and VESDA system operation status. Knowledge of basic data hall environment management requirements, including temperature/humidity, water leak detection and airflow organization.
Able to independently perform routine data hall inspections and identify equipment operation status, alarms and anomalies. Able to support facility change maintenance, including pre-change preparation checks, on-site follow-up and change completion confirmation. Able to perform initial grading of facility events and conduct on-site support and issue tracking per established procedures.
Able to use facility monitoring systems to review operating parameters and identify alarms. Able to use O&M management systems (e.g., DCOPS or ticketing systems) to complete ticket handling and inspection records. Good documentation skills; able to produce inspection records, change records, daily/weekly reports and other O&M documents.
Knowledge of data center O&M processes; familiar with the change management system and able to participate in and drive Level 1–4 changes. Familiar with MOP, SOP, EOP and other operational documents; strong process compliance and risk control awareness. Proficient in English (or the local official language) in listening, speaking, reading and writing; proficient in Chinese in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
