Analytical Data Scientist (GC/GC-MS)

Kfar SabaFull-timePosted Oct 10, 2026

Job description

Department: Quality Control Location: Israel / Remote Reports to: Manager of QA Position Type: Full-time The Role: Eybna runs terpene profiling and purity testing through an automated GC/GC-MS pipeline behind BNA™'s compliance-at-generation promise. We're looking for an Analytical Data Scientist to review that pipeline's output, decide what ships, what gets flagged, and what needs a re-run, and explain the results and confidence level directly to our B2B customers.

This role sits between the analytical bench and the customer, and it's for someone who trusts an actual chromatogram over a clean-looking summary number.

Key Responsibilities

Review GC, GC-MS, and HPLC data coming out of the automated analytical pipeline; decide what's release-ready, what's flagged, and what needs a re-run. Judge peak and curve quality beyond the reported numbers, distinguishing genuine compound signals from noise, contamination, or instrument artifacts. Analyze supporting data (purity, stability, synergy potency) alongside core terpene profiles.

Explain results, methodology, and confidence levels directly to B2B customers (flavor houses, CPG brands) on calls and in written reports. Design and request follow-up testing when a result is ambiguous, rather than forcing a clean answer. Write scripts (Python or R) to handle batch-level analysis instead of reviewing results one at a time.

Catch automation or instrument errors in the pipeline and report them back to the team maintaining it. Work across Analytical, Formulation, Computational Chemistry, and Sales to keep customer-facing data accurate and clearly explained.

Requirements

MSc or PhD in analytical chemistry, chemistry, or a related field, plus 3+ years of hands-on GC/GC-MS or HPLC experience. Deep, practical understanding of chromatography data — able to read a chromatogram directly, not just the software's summary output. Python or R proficiency for data analysis and scripting. Comfortable using AI tools (like Claude) to speed up analysis scripting and reporting.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical results clearly to non-scientist customers. Self-directed, comfortable prioritizing independently in a fast-moving, still-evolving process. Willing to say a result isn't clean enough to ship, instead of rounding an ambiguous result into a confident answer.

Familiarity with sensory evaluation or stability testing is a plus.
