• Summer 2027 REPORTS TO: Community School Program Manager SUMMER 2027 DATES & TIMES: June 21 � August 13, 2027 ( No camp on July 5) 8:15 AM � 5:00 PM COMPENSATION: $35.25 (per hour) QUALIFICATIONS Prior experience as a camp director, supervisor, teacher, or in a similar leadership role Teacher certification preferred Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced camp environment Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented when addressing camper, parent/guardian, or staff concerns Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, positive, and engaging camp environment GENERAL DESCRIPTION Randolph Community School hosts Summer Trailblazers, Counselors in Training (CITs), and Travelers Camp for Randolph residents and families from surrounding communities. Each Summer Camp Director will oversee a designated program group: Trailblazers K�1, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4�5 Grade, CITs, or Travelers. The Director is a key member of the Community School summer leadership team and works closely with the Community School Program Manager and Assistant Manager to plan, prepare, and successfully operate their assigned camp program. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, organized, and dependable leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The Director must be able to effectively supervise staff, manage daily schedules, respond appropriately to changing circumstances, and help create a safe, fun, and rewarding experience for campers and staff. The Director is responsible for the overall daily operation of their assigned group, including camper and staff safety, activity coordination, staff supervision, scheduling, and communication. Directors will work collaboratively with the other Camp Directors and Community School staff to ensure that all groups remain on schedule and that activities, transitions, and trips run smoothly. Directors will address camper, parent/guardian, and staff questions or concerns while keeping the Community School Program Manager and/or Assistant Manager informed and requesting additional support when needed. Each Director will also be responsible for developing and coordinating two designated theme weeks that are exciting, engaging, and appropriate for their assigned campers. Directors will provide the Assistant Manager with weekly updates regarding their group's activities, special events, and trips for inclusion in the camp newsletter. Directors are expected to maintain consistent communication with the Community School leadership team, ensure their groups follow all camp policies and procedures, and attend and supervise all scheduled group trips. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Assist the Community School Program Manager and Assistant Manager with daily summer camp operations. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the assigned camp group. Monitor the safety and security of assigned campers and staff. Supervise and support counselors and other assigned staff. Create and manage staff break schedules while maintaining appropriate supervision and coverage. Coordinate daily activities and transitions to ensure the group remains on schedule. Assist specialists and activity leaders with camp programming as needed. Attend and supervise all scheduled group camp trips. Coordinate with other Directors to prevent scheduling conflicts and ensure smooth daily operations. Address camper, parent/guardian, and staff questions and concerns in a professional and timely manner. Communicate significant concerns, incidents, or operational issues to the Community School Program Manager and/or Assistant Manager. Plan and coordinate two designated theme weeks for the assigned group. Provide weekly updates regarding group activities, special events, and trips for the camp newsletter. Ensure assigned campers and staff are prepared for and attend scheduled activities and trips. Assist with camper supervision, transitions, arrival, dismissal, and other daily camp procedures. Support a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment for campers and staff. Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Community School Program Manager and/or Assistant Manager. Attend required staff orientation prior to the start of camp. Attend the Community School Family Meet & Greet prior to the start of camp. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CAMP STAFF BENEFIT Camp staff are eligible for a camp tuition fee waiver for their child(ren), subject to Community School registration requirements and applicable program availability.
