Occupational Therapist I

Your Opportunity: Villa Caritas is an acute inpatient geriatric psychiatry hospital. This 150-bed hospital serves individuals living with dementia of all stages, other psychiatric illnesses such as depression, anxiety, mood and thought disorders, complex psychosocial needs and other medical comorbidities. Its programs promote a patient-centered approach and include a variety of individual and group programs that focus on optimizing functioning, independence and quality of life.

The comprehensive multidisciplinary team works together to treat the whole person: body, mind and soul. Description: Description: The Occupational Therapist I (OT) services are primarily clinical in nature and require expertise in the functional assessment and treatment, client centred case management and discharge planning.

Areas of treatment include but are not limited to: orthopedics, acute, stroke, post-op hands, lower extremity clinic, splinting, mental health, cognitive assessments. The position also involves consultations and collaboration with hospital staff and community agencies, and working closely with an interdisciplinary team including supervision of therapist assistant staff in the delivery of hospital based rehabilitation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in acute care. Experience working with the geriatric psychiatry population.
