Student - Cyber Security Assistant

Description This position assists the Information Security with specific tasks related to intrusion detection and the security of the Messiah network and data. $9.50/hour Primary Duties

1. Assist with identifying and solving potential and actual security problems; recognizing problems by identifying abnormalities; and reporting violations.
2. Assist with implementing security improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
3. Determine development requirements needed to identify threats.
4. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance Secondary Duties Other duties as assigned.

Education

Required Education Preferred Experience Required Basic knowledge of networks, familiarity with Linux and Windows OS, basic understanding of cyber based attacks. Program development with languages like PHP, Java, and or C#. Experience Preferred Network security Problem solving Information security policies Network protocols Routers, hubs, and switches Process improvement Development Skills, Characteristics Required Outgoing, friendly personality Good Communication skills Attention to detail Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks.
