SEMH Teaching Assistant – Secondary School – Newham – Immediate Start

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Newham Senovo is recruiting an SEMH Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEN school in Newham. You will support secondary-aged pupils who benefit from calm adults, clear expectations and consistent encouragement. The role

• Support pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs in lessons and structured activities.
• Use positive, low-arousal approaches to promote regulation and engagement.
• Build constructive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Work with teachers, therapists and pastoral colleagues.

About you

• Relevant experience in SEN schools, youth work, mentoring or behaviour support.
• Calm under pressure with strong de-escalation skills.
• Patient, reliable and committed to safeguarding.
• QTS is not required for this support role. Pay: £95–£115 per day PAYE. Full-time opportunity. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to complete Senovo’s compliance process, including references and an enhanced child-workforce DBS check. Apply with an up-to-date CV.
