Upstream/Downstream Processing Technician - Bioprocessing & Fermentation

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Upstream/Downstream Processing Operator to join our bio-manufacturing team. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining our bioprocessing and fermentation production line, from pilot to production scale.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor bioprocessing and fermentation equipment Maintain sterile conditions throughout the production process Perform upstream processes including media preparation and inoculation Execute downstream processes such as centrifugation, and purification Conduct in-process testing and quality control checks Troubleshoot equipment and process issues as they arise Maintain accurate records of production activities and outcomes Collaborate with the R&D team to scale up new beverage formulations Ensure compliance with safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Food Engineering, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field 2+ years of experience in bioprocessing, fermentation, or related industry Familiarity with upstream and downstream processing techniques Knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterile processing Experience with process control systems and data acquisition Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed Preferred Skills that are considered as strong plus Experience in the beverage or food industry Knowledge of continuous processing techniques Familiarity with HACCP and food safety regulations Experience with pilot-scale and production-scale equipment
