Accounts Payable Clerk Los Angeles, CA | Non-Exempt | $26.00 - $28.60 per hour Kedren Community Health Center, Inc. is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Accounting team. This position is responsible for the day-to-day processing of accounts payable transactions and helping ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and up to date.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounts payable experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to accurately process invoices, payments, general ledger coding, and vendor transactions in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Key Responsibilities

Match, enter, process, and post invoices accurately and in a timely manner. Process check requests and ensure proper general ledger coding and required approvals. Process vendor payments through manual checks, bank-issued checks, ACH, and Positive Pay. Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records and files.

Ensure accounts payable documentation complies with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Verify appropriate authorization and approval of invoices prior to payment. Provide accurate data entry and general ledger coding for vendor disbursements across multiple programs. Research and resolve vendor discrepancies, credit memos, outstanding checks, and other payment-related issues.

Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding accounts payable and expense reports. Process and distribute vendor payments in a timely manner. Assist with special accounting projects and year-end audit preparation. Support continuous process improvement and increased efficiency within Accounts Payable. Perform additional accounting duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager or CFO.

Qualifications

Associate degree (AA) or equivalent required. Minimum of 3 years of Accounts Payable experience in a nonprofit environment . Proficiency with Microsoft Office , with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills highly desired . Experience with Abila Nonprofit Accounting (formerly Sage MIP) preferred. 10-key by touch proficiency required.

Strong data entry, numerical, and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with vendors, staff, and other stakeholders.
