Fuel & Oil Analyst

B.Tech / Diploma in Chemical Engineering /Chemical Technology 2 to 4 and 7 to 13yrs Perform routine and advanced testing of fuels, lubricants, transmission oils, hydraulic oils, greases, coolants, water, and gaseous fuels (CNG/CBG). Conduct specialized analyses including PIONA analysis, Sulphur determination, gas composition analysis, moisture content, viscosity measurement, fuel dilution assessment, ion chromatography, elemental analysis, and grease characterization.

Interpret laboratory results, investigate out-of-specification (OOS) findings, identify performance trends, and provide technical recommendations on fuel Quality, lubricant condition, and equipment health. Prepare accurate test reports, technical summaries, and analytical documentation. Ensure compliance with ISO 17025, ISO 9001, laboratory Quality systems, Safety standards, and environmental regulations.

Maintain laboratory records, SOPs, calibration records, and sample traceability documentation. Support internal audits, proficiency testing programs, and Quality improvement initiatives. Assist in root cause analysis of fuel and lubricant-related failures. Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance laboratory efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.

Required Technical Competencies Strong knowledge of ASTM, ISO, IS, SAE, and OEM testing standards. Sound understanding of fuel properties, lubricant chemistry, and tribology principles. Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Proficiency in MS Office and technical reporting tools. Behavioural Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
