Job description

The Commercial Manager is responsible for leading the commercial function by developing and implementing strategies that maximise profitability, manage commercial risk, and support sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with business objectives. Lead the full commercial lifecycle, including tendering, estimating, pricing, contract negotiation, and contract management. Manage commercial risks, claims, revenue assurance, and commercial performance. Provide commercial support throughout project execution, ensuring contractual compliance and effective issue resolution.

Collaborate with Executive Management, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Legal, Engineering, and Business Development to support strategic and financial objectives. Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, governance standards, company policies, and legal requirements.

Drive continuous improvement, innovation, operational excellence, and commercial best practices. Support sustainable business growth while improving financial performance and client satisfaction.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 7) in:Quantity Surveying, Commercial/Contract Law, Engineering, Commerce, or a related discipline 10–15 years' progressive commercial management experience within mining, engineering, construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or project-based industries Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior commercial leadership role Experience in: Large-scale contract management and negotiations Commercial risk management Tendering, estimating, and pricing strategies Financial management, profitability analysis, and budget control Executive stakeholder engagement and leading multidisciplinary teams Kindly consider your application unsuccessful should you not be contacted within 7 working days
