Education

and/or Experience for GS-11 Specialized Experience GS-0343-11 Management and Program Analyst: One year of specialized experience which includes researching established privacy guidelines to assist with routine compliance reviews, processing program administrative records to support daily operations, tracking organization compliance milestones to monitor corrective actions and assisting in the execution of HIPAA regulations for organizational compliance.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education : Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or Health Information Management.

OR Combination of Education and Experience : A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Specialized Experience GS-0343-12 Management and Program Analyst: One year of specialized experience which includes implementing privacy regulations to identify operational compliance issues, coordinating program compliance activities to support risk mitigation efforts, analyzing program data to recommend improvements, and managing HIPAA regulations for organizational compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Specialized Experience GS-0343-13 Management and Program Analyst: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating privacy policies to ensure compliance with legal or regulatory requirements, overseeing compliance operations to mitigate organizational information risks, conducting program audits to implement enterprise process improvements, and executing HIPAA regulations for organizational compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
