• Pittsburgh , PA, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $70000.00 - $80000.00Salary/year, Job Shift: Day, Overview of Position The Assistant Manager is a key role responsible for supporting the successful operation of the branch. The Assistant Manager will serve as the General Manager’s primary partner and will take ownership of Fresh Buying. This role will also support a positive employee-owner culture by supporting the ESOP representative in engagement activities. Leadership & Business Partnership Partner with the General Manager in the oversight of all aspects of the Branch including performance, customer experience, operational execution, and financial results. Serve as a leader-on-duty and provide management coverage in the absence of the General Manager. Participate in business planning, budgeting, inventory management and monitoring ongoing branch performance. Lead by example in fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Contribute to site specific and broader projects and initiatives that build leadership capability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with Central Purchasing and department leaders to support effective purchasing, replenishment, and inventory planning. Oversee inventory accuracy, utilizing the best care & handling procedures to maximize freshness and reduce dump. Monitor product movement, identify opportunities for improved turns. Support department managers in maintaining product in line with predicted customer demand.
