Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Maritime Programme Instructor to deliver world-class maritime training in the British Virgin Islands. This role is ideal for a seasoned mariner with a passion for teaching and shaping the next generation of seafarers.​ What You’ll Do: Deliver engaging instruction in both STCW/MCA-approved and non-STCW maritime courses.

Lead theory and hands-on practical training sessions. Conduct assessments and maintain accurate training records. Support the upkeep of firefighting and lifesaving equipment used in training. Contribute to the development of new courses and enhancement of existing ones. Promote maritime training programmes through collaboration with port authorities, clients, and partners.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of seamanship as Second Officer (or equivalent) on a merchant or naval vessel. Certified to deliver STCW courses. STCW Advanced Firefighting and Basic Safety certifications. STCW Train the Trainer (or equivalent teaching qualification). Strong communication, organizational, and teaching skills. Experience working with diverse, multicultural groups of students.

Additional certifications such as First Aid Instructor, Rescue Swimmer/Lifeguard are an asset.
