Senior Planner Harrogate | £39,000–£49,000 An independent planning practice in Harrogate is looking for a Senior Planner to join its close-knit team. The workload is varied, the client contact is genuine and good people are trusted with responsibility early. The opportunity The team’s workload includes housing, rural development, commercial property, appeals and site promotion.

The central purpose of the position is to join a personable regional practice and manage projects throughout Yorkshire and the North. Prepare clear planning appraisals, statements and strategic advice. Manage planning applications and coordinate technical inputs. Maintain regular, professional communication with clients and project teams.

Negotiate constructively with local planning authorities and other stakeholders. Support larger instructions while steadily increasing your own project responsibility.

About you

Mrtpi or close; strong report writing; comfortable advising clients and negotiating applications. You should also be organised, dependable and able to explain planning issues in straightforward language. The business is interested in people who value good advice and long-term client relationships rather than unnecessary internal politics.

Package and working arrangements The salary is £39,000–£49,000. The wider package includes hybrid working, pension, bonus, professional fees and progression.
