Senior / Lead QA Engineer (India)

About the Role

This is is a contract through X-Team. As a Senior QA Engineer, you will drive quality assurance across a large-scale, cloud-native media content platform that handles end-to-end data ingestion, processing, and consumption APIs for millions of media assets. This is a high-impact role where you will own the testing strategy for complex data pipelines and high-traffic APIs processing massive datasets.

You will combine deep technical expertise in API automation, data validation, and performance testing with the leadership skills needed to mentor a team and implement "shift-left" practices across the development lifecycle. Most Important Senior QA Leadership with 7+ years of experience managing quality assurance for complex, distributed systems, large-scale ETL/data pipelines, and mentoring engineering teams.

End-to-End API & Pipeline QA expertise to own testing strategies across the complete data lifecycle, including push/pull ingestion workflows and complex consumption endpoints. Large-Scale Data Validation skills to verify millions of JSON records using cloud storage, SQL querying (such as Athena), and metadata mapping validation.

Automation Framework Architecture proficiency, specifically designing and maintaining scalable API and backend automation frameworks using JavaScript (Jest) or Python (Pytest) integrated into CI/CD pipelines. Cloud Ecosystem Expertise heavily focused on AWS environments (S3, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, SQS/SNS) and search/analytics engines like Open.

Search or Elasticsearch. Performance & Load Testing mastery using tools like Locust to analyze system bottlenecks, API latency, and high-volume throughput. Observability & Documentation experience building monitoring dashboards to track system health and writing high-quality test strategies and performance reports.

Nice to Have

AI & Semantic Search Validation involving embedding generation, vector-based retrieval, or pioneering LLM-based automated test case generation. Advanced Test Infrastructure experience architecting automated, ephemeral test environments, contract testing, or service virtualization. Container & Streaming QA knowledge, including event-driven/streaming systems, Docker, and Kubernetes for test deployments.

Advanced Database Validation working with complex data models in Vector and Graph databases. Personal Traits Strategic QA Leader who champions "shift-left" practices in the SDLC and successfully aligns quality goals across Product, Engineering, and DevOps stakeholders. Technical Mentor dedicated to fostering growth within QA teams and guiding engineers through complex debugging and production issues.
