Job Summary

The Director of Development & AI at Dassian Inc. leads the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to create innovative and scalable SAP-integrated solutions, while driving the adoption of AI across engineering. This role involves managing a team of developers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products, embedding AI-assisted workflows into day-to-day engineering practice, and building AI capability into CI/CD pipelines and product features — all while collaborating across departments to align development efforts with the company's strategic goals.

Job Description Key Responsibilities

  1. Development Leadership Oversee the design, development, and deployment of Dassian's software solutions. Ensure all products are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards. Establish and enforce best practices in coding, testing, and deployment, including AI-assisted engineering practices.
  2. AI-Enabled SDLC & Developer Adoption Lead the integration of AI tools and practices throughout the software development lifecycle, from planning and coding to testing, code review, and deployment. Drive day-to-day adoption of AI coding assistants and agentic development tools across the engineering team, establishing usage standards, prompting practices, and guardrails for responsible use. Define and track metrics for AI-assisted development adoption and impact (e.g., cycle time, code quality, developer productivity). Champion change management and training so developers build durable fluency with AI-assisted workflows rather than ad hoc use. Evaluate, pilot, and select AI development tools (coding assistants, code review agents, test generation tools) and manage vendor/tooling relationships.
  3. AI in CI/CD & Product Features Build AI capability into CI/CD pipelines, including automated code review, test generation, build/release risk detection, and intelligent deployment gating. Partner with Product Management to identify, prioritize, and deliver AI-powered features within Dassian's SAP-integrated product portfolio. Establish standards for responsible AI use in production systems, including model selection, data handling, monitoring, and evaluation of AI-driven features. Stay current on emerging AI/ML tooling and techniques relevant to enterprise SAP software, and translate them into practical roadmap initiatives.
  4. Strategic Planning Collaborate with leadership and Product Management to define the development roadmap and prioritize projects based on business and customer needs, including AI-driven initiatives. Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, particularly in AI, to drive innovation in Dassian's offerings.
  5. Team Management Lead, mentor, and manage a team of developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and continuous learning around AI-assisted development. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities for team members, including AI upskilling.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with the product management, sales, and delivery teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment between development efforts and client needs. Act as a liaison between technical teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, including AI-enabled capabilities.
  7. Quality Assurance Establish and oversee rigorous quality assurance processes to maintain the reliability and performance of Dassian's software solutions, including validation of AI-assisted and AI-generated code. Address technical challenges and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  8. Process Optimization Continuously evaluate and refine development processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and agility, leveraging AI/automation wherever it adds measurable value. Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards where applicable, including responsible-AI and data governance considerations.
  9. Talent Management Manage employees throughout the employee life cycle, including onboarding, development, and offboarding processes. Provide training and mentorship to staff, fostering a culture of growth and learning. Collaborate with leadership to address employment transitions and contractual updates effectively.
