District Safety Coordinator

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent/Designee plans, coordinates, implements, and supports emergency preparedness, school safety strategies, law enforcement-based crisis management activities, and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines for Exeter Unified School District.

Essential duties

include school safety assessment, planning, training, emergency response and communication, investigations, coordination with law enforcement and other public agencies, and other school safety-related functions. This position will serve in a leadership capacity for development, training, and implementation of safety plans.

• Possession of a bachelor’s degree in administration of justice, criminology, sociology, education, or related field is preferred. Or seven (7) years’ experience as a sworn law enforcement professional, preferably in assignments that included community engagement and coalition-building, liaison among various entities, and/or support for schools
• CPR and First Aid Certificates
• Valid California Driver’s License & SB88 Compliance
• Flexible with working hours as needed Desirable:
• Safety and/or Security Officer Certificate
• A.L.I.C.E Training
• Past work with youth in school setting
• CPI Training
• Gang task force experience
