Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Transportation, operates a school bus on prescribed routes in the absence of drivers; performs dispatch duties; assists with routing, inventory, and transportation clerical duties; assists the vehicle maintenance section; committed to teamwork and collaboration to provide maximum services for pupils, staff, and community; and performs other duties assigned Requirements / Qualifications Outside applicants must apply on EDJOIN.

No electronic signatures will be accepted. Drive a CNG or diesel-powered school bus daily over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, picking up and discharging school children. Must be able to maintain good order on bus routes.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Five years of experience as a school bus driver and a minimum of one year experience in planning, scheduling routes and bus dispatching desired.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Have State Certificate Instructor certificate or willing to get one.
• Must have a good driving record and maintain the following documents: California Commercial Drivers License Class B with Passenger endorsements.
• California School Bus Driver Certificate with no limitations (except "Automatic Transmission Only").
• Medical Examiner's Certificate and SB88 Compliance Must have knowledge of safe driving practices and knowledge of provisions of California Motor Vehicle Code and Education Code applicable to the operation of vehicles in transportation of school children.
