Position Title: Educational Technician II Functional Lifeskills Program Location:Shapleigh School Reports To: Josie Chadbourne Position Start Date: August 26, 2026 Required Certification: Maine Ed tech certification Application Deadline: August 1, 2026 or until filled The Kittery School District is currently seeking an Educational Technician II to work with 4-8th grade students in the Functional Lifeskills program who struggle with various functional challenges throughout their school day.
Responsibilities include
supporting Special Education Teachers in implementing students' Individual Education Plans, collecting data, following behavior support plans, and instructing students in various content areas as assigned. This role works closely with elementary students in grades 4-8 grade with varying academic, developmental, and functional needs, including communication disorders, and may need to work 1:1 or in small groups.
At times, this person may need to assist with leading the class if the teacher steps away for a special education meeting. Students are supported in all settings, including the general education classroom. Working with students and helping them to achieve independence must be a top priority for anyone seeking this position.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a current Maine Ed Tech certification and fingerprinting. Candidates must submit to a Criminal History Record Check through the Maine Department of Education Required Application Materials: Completed Applitrack Application Resume Cover Letter Transcripts (Not required for School Nutrition or Custodial positions) Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for initial application; Official transcripts will be required upon job offer.
