Financial Accountant & Assistant Financial Manager

ABOUT THE COMPANY Our client is an established salvage and recycling centre in Koedoespoort, Pretoria. The business runs a busy, fast-paced operation and needs a qualified accounting professional to strengthen its finance function and support senior management. This is an urgent vacancy. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Financial Accountant & Assistant Financial Manager handles the day-to-day accounting and financial control of the business, including accounting processing, bank, stock and creditor reconciliations, and cash management.

The role works closely with the Financial Manager and Office Manager, supporting both financial and operational functions. It suits a self-driven accountant who works independently, meets deadlines and is highly accurate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial management & accounting Support the financial management of the business. Process accounting transactions accurately and on time. Reconciliations Prepare bank reconciliations. Prepare stock reconciliations. Prepare creditor reconciliations. Cash management Manage cash and monitor cash flow. Management support Assist the Financial Manager and Office Manager.

Support financial and operational functions within the business.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Grade 12 / Matric. BCom Accounting / BCompt degree (essential). BCom Financial Accounting / Management Accounting, a Financial Management degree or a Financial Accounting Diploma will also be considered. Minimum 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in financial management, accounting processing, reconciliations and cash management.

Computer literate. ADVANTAGEOUS Knowledge of project management and site management. Knowledge of operations management. Experience in a recycling, industrial or operational environment. KEY COMPETENCIES Fast learner, able to work independently. Works well under pressure. Strong deadline management. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Comfortable supporting senior financial management in a fast-paced environment.
