Job description

SERVICE ACTIVITIES The candidate shall: Conduct legal research work and provide legal advice to relevant company departments (Corporate, Asset Operated by Others (AOBO), and People and Country Services) on a wide range of issues including commercial and regulatory issues, finance and employment related matters. Monitor, analyze and interpret applicable legislation, regulations, pending bills and contractual documents and advise on their implications, application and interpretation and enforcement.

Draft, review and negotiate agreements and contracts used in the oil and gas industry, and support their effective implementation. Provide legal opinions and assess legal and contractual risks arising from proposed transactions and assigned matters, working with relevant departments of Company. Handle routine legal matters and support the management of moderately complex legal matters under appropriate supervision.

Manage assigned legal matters, including liaison and negotiations with coventurers legal representatives and contractors. Support the management of litigation, arbitration, tax appeals and any other dispute resolution proceedings involving COMPANY'S, including liaison with external counsel and attendance at court proceedings where required.

Carry out any other tasks or activities assigned by the Legal Manager, Corp Services, AOBO & PCS, or the General Counsel. H3SE The candidate shall comply with all applicable H3SE rules and requirements ACCOUNTABILITIES Provides timely, practical and commercially focused legal advice to support compliant business operations and informed decision-making.

Supports the mitigation of legal and contractual risks by ensuring that relevant facts and documentation are properly reviewed, and that the Company’s position is clearly and professionally presented.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE LL.B., B.L qualifications (2.1 or 2.2) with a minimum of 5 – 8 years’ post call experience, including at least 3 years’ experience in a law firm or commercial environment. Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
