Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the general maintenance of the equipment, fixtures, furniture, plumbing, electrical and general repair needs of the facility, including, but not limited to, the clubhouse, cart barn, general clubhouse grounds (parking lot, sidewalks, etc) and golf course comfort stations. The Maintenance Supervisor is a hands-on position that proactively develops and implements maintenance practices and procedures to provide a safe, functional, attractive and high-end environment for the members, guests and employees of the Club, assisting with housekeeping and cleaning duties as needed.
Additionally, the Maintenance Supervisor will assist in furniture moving and event set-up as needed to support club events and activities. Supervisory Responsibilities: Assists the Clubhouse Manager in supervising the Housekeeping Staff. Physical Requirements: Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to function in an outdoor environment with high heat indexes consistent with a Florida climate. Will be subject to loud noises, fumes and smells associated with heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
Primary Job Tasks and Responsibilities: Diagnose maintenance-related issues and take lead on seeing that repairs are handled effectively themselves or through a third-party company if needed Develop, implement, track and monitor preventative maintenance practices Serve as the primary contact for all repair requests including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, kitchen equipment, HVAC, basic carpentry, painting, basic repair to furniture/fixtures/equipment and housekeeping Serve as the primary contact for pest removal and exterminating requests and needs Proactively identify and resolve maintenance needs, taking initiative to consistently improve the Club’s physical plant Maintain an inventory of basic repair parts, tools and material as required Assist with furniture moving and event set-up for club events and activities Develop and maintain good relationships with vendors Ensure maintenance practices adhere to government regulations including, but not limited to, fire safety, OSHA and ADA standards Prepare quotes and cost estimates for any maintenance-related projects Meet with Clubhouse Manager regularly Perform daily checks to ensure buildings, equipment and surrounding grounds are in excellent condition Establish daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual proactive maintenance schedules based on equipment age, priority and as required by outside agencies Recommend any equipment and fixture changes and major repairs for operational and capital budgeting Promote a safe and healthy work environment in all aspects of job duties, consistently adhering to safety standards, and implementing and communicating additional safety standards across all departments as needed Required Skills and Education: Ability to communicate on a professional level with staff, vendors, suppliers, members, and guests Knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components, including HVAC Ability to safely and efficiently execute basic repairs to plumbing, electrical and mechanical components Ability to read and follow manuals, understand preventive maintenance requirements and schedules and repair equipment Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and repair services to schedule appointments, follow up on repair requests, submit invoices to the Club’s accounting office for payment and ensure repairs and improvements are executed at a high level Compensation and Benefits The Founders Golf Club provides excellent benefits to all full-time staff including competitive pay, health, vision, dental and life insurance, 401(k) with excellent employer contribution match and golf course amenity access.
