Senior Product Development Manager (Maternity Leave Cover, 6-12 months)
Job description
WHY WORK AT JOE & THE JUICE
JOE & THE JUICE is a people-centric food and beverage company built around culture, offering much more than just juice, sandwiches, and coffee.
We believe in four simple virtues that shape everything we do:
- Positive Attitude
- Inclusion
- Social Ties
- Growth
For us, this means that when you choose a cup-half-full mindset, welcome people from every background, build real friendships across the bar by creating great guest experiences, and use every shift as a chance to learn something new, you become more than just a Juicer; like us, you continue to search and find purpose and meaning in what you do.
From your first day, you'll be part of an international network of Juicers who support each other, celebrate wins together, and push each other to grow. You will learn by doing and move through our Moneyball career path, our internal system that tracks your performance and fast-tracks you toward promotion. Most of our leaders have earned their stripes behind the bar (fun fact: over 75% of our employees started as Juicers!), so you will always be part of a company built on that same journey. If you love a fast-paced environment, music, and people, and you like the idea of turning a job into a lifestyle, JOE can become a place to build skills, friendships, and a career that takes you across cities, countries, and roles.
JOB SUMMARY
Full-time
Maternity leave cover: January - June 2027
As Senior Product Development Manager, you'll be the senior product voice in the Menu & Innovation team, owning our highest priority global NPD projects and the systems, standards and ways of working that sit behind every product we launch. Based at our Global HQ in Copenhagen, you'll work closely with Brand, Marketing, Operations, Technical, Franchise partners, Supply Chain and our supplier partners to make sure JOE products are consistently great in every market. This is a lead role in the menu & product team: you'll set the direction for how we develop, test and approve products worldwide, coach the wider team, and help shape how the team grows and operates globally. You'll have real scope to define the future of our global menu, always keeping juicer ease at the heart.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive end-to-end ownership of high priority global NPD projects, including new categories, new occasions and growth platforms, from brief through to in-store launch.
- Lead on all global NPD systems and processes, defining and continuously optimising them as JOE scales.
- Define and own the JOE global product testing framework and approach for all products, from scale-up kitchen trials to product operational testing to global scale commercial consumer testing.
- Lead on future NPD team growth strategies and the expansion of our global operating model.
- Own all core EPD quality workstreams across defined products and categories.
- Own all product and ingredient standards, making sure the JOE quality bar is upheld globally.
- Lead high functioning cross-functional project teams; with all global teams and local markets, from Operations and Marketing to Franchise and Supply Chain.
- Champion best-in-class trend diagnosis, coaching the wider team on how to diagnosis, read & interpret trends, in a Joe way, and run sharp competitor reviews to keep a finger on the pulse.
- Partner with all key suppliers, owning strong relationship management and engagement across current and new suppliers for current and future projects.
- Maintain and nurture a tightly connected global product network across equity and franchise; now and as it scales, so opportunities are identified, shared and recognised and everyone stays aligned.
- Key point of contact for our franchise team (current and new) on all product activity beyond equity stores; ensuring global brand consistency whilst driving local relevancy
WHO YOU ARE
- A defining ability to translate concepts into scalable, operationally sound recipes without losing sight of brand and quality standards.
- Excellent project management skills and experience
- Senior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions, markets and franchise partners.
- Experience coaching and developing others
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Min. 8 years' experience in corporate product development, ideally within QSR (Quick Service Restaurant), with a track record of owning global or multi-market launches.
- Proven experience building or improving NPD systems, processes and testing frameworks, including scale-up, operational and consumer testing.
- Deep familiarity with stage-gate or gate approval governance.
- Strong supplier management skills, with experience owning relationships across a global supply base.
- Fluent in English - other languages are a bonus!
