Job description
The QIDP Residential Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing residential programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements while promoting a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for residents.
The coordinator collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized service plans that meet the unique needs of each resident. They are responsible for training, supervising, and supporting direct care staff to maintain high standards of care and program effectiveness. Ultimately, this role drives continuous improvement in residential services, fostering independence and quality of life for all residents.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) certification or eligibility as defined by applicable state regulations. Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, special education, or a related human services field. Demonstrated experience working with individuals with IDD in a residential setting.
At least 2 years supervisory experience with at least 1 year supervisory in IDD residential setting. Strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and best practices governing residential care programs. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or a related field. Experience in program development and staff supervision within residential care environments. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and person-centered planning. Proficiency in electronic health records and case management software. Certification in CPR and First Aid.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized service plans in accordance with regulatory guidelines and best practices. Supervise, train, and support direct care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centered services. Coordinate with healthcare providers, families, and community resources to support residents’ holistic needs.
Conduct regular program evaluations and quality assurance activities to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Skills: The QIDP Residential Program Coordinator utilizes strong interpersonal and communication skills daily to effectively collaborate with residents, families, staff, and external partners.
Analytical skills are essential for assessing program effectiveness and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Leadership and supervisory skills are applied to mentor and guide direct care staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Organizational skills enable the coordinator to manage multiple responsibilities, including documentation, scheduling, and quality assurance activities.
