Job description
We are looking for a proactive and relationship-driven Modern Trade Executive to manage store-level operations across assigned retail chains. The role involves ensuring product availability, maintaining strong relationships with store teams, monitoring secondary sales, executing in-store visibility initiatives, and coordinating with distributors to drive sales and improve store performance.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct a minimum of 8 store visits daily to monitor stock availability, shelf visibility, and store execution. Build and maintain strong relationships with store managers, pharmacists, and floor staff. Track secondary sales and identify fast-moving SKUs and potential out-of-stock (OOS) risks. Report OOS issues to the Key Account Manager (KAM) on the same day and coordinate with distributors for replenishment within 24 hours.
Ensure 100% festive stock placement across assigned stores before campaign timelines. Submit weekly activity reports covering store visits, stock status, sell-through insights, and competitor activities. Support Visual Merchandising (VM) activities, including POSM installation and planogram compliance. Coordinate with distributors to resolve pending orders, delivery issues, and stock discrepancies.
Drive new product launches by ensuring all new SKUs are stocked and visible across assigned stores. Submit monthly store relationship reports highlighting key contacts, escalations, and engagement updates. Assist the Key Account Manager in preparing chain-level sales and performance reports for buyer meetings.
Requirements
● Strong field sales fundamentals — store connect, relationship building, persuasive communication ● Familiarity with pharmacy/beauty retail environment (Apollo, H&G, Guardian, Noble, Medkart or similar) ● Self-driven with excellent time management — high visit coverage without daily supervision ● Proficiency in WhatsApp, Excel, and simple store-level tracking tools ● Good understanding of stock replenishment cycles and distributor coordination ● Two-wheeler driving licence (for local store coverage in Tier 2/3 cities
