- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and diagnostic assessments to identify ocular diseases and conditions.
- Perform PHECOO (Phacoemulsification with Cataract Surgery) and other advanced cataract surgical procedures with precision and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care, including patient counseling, surgical planning, and follow-up monitoring.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic imaging and intraoperative technologies to optimize surgical outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including optometrists, nurses, and medical technicians, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Stay current with evolving ophthalmic technologies, surgical techniques, and clinical guidelines through continuous professional development.
- Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical research or audit activities as needed.
- Provide patient education on eye health, preventive care, and post-surgical care instructions. --- Requirements:
- MBBS degree with a recognized postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (MD/MS in Ophthalmology).
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on clinical experience in ophthalmology, with documented proficiency in PHECOO surgery.
- Proven track record of performing cataract surgeries with high success rates and low complication incidence.
- Strong knowledge of intraocular lens (IOL) selection, biometry, and refractive outcomes.
- Familiarity with modern surgical equipment, including phacoemulsification machines, OCT, and visual field analyzers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with patients and colleagues.
- Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, and continuous professional growth.
- Valid medical license and registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or equivalent regulatory body.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced hospital environment and participate in on-call duties as required. ---
