Heavy Equipment Technician, Road Service The Road Service Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for responding to road service calls. This person will be troubleshooting and performing mechanical repairs and installs on a variety of heavy equipment while in the field. BRANCH: Joe Johnson Equipment, operating as Kinloch Equipment & Supply AREA OF SERVICE: Midland, Texas EMPLOYMENT TYPE: 1 Vacancy Permanent/Full-Time TOTAL REWARDS OVERVIEW: Competitive pay range, based on experience Premium Health Insurance Benefits Paid Vacation and Paid Personal Days 401(k) Employer matching ABOUT YOU: Demonstrated ability to work in a safe manner Demonstrated team player and willing to assist others when required Attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction Independent problem solver and decision maker Ability to plan and execute aspects of work independently POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Travel to customer sites/locations to complete repairs as scheduled and assigned by the Service Manager and/or Service Writer Perform mechanical repairs on a variety of heavy equipment represented by JJE Perform hydraulic and electrical diagnostics Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency Update work order details with 3C’s – Complaint, Cause, Correction to complete “the story” for invoicing.

Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections Prepare quotations for customers Communicate with Service Manager and Service Writer daily regarding job progress and status changes. Notify the Service Manager and/or Service Writer upon completion of each repair Acquire and update customer information to ensure up to date customer contact information While traveling in the territory, conduct regular visits to customers to inspect machines/ fleets and leverage service opportunities by offering reliable solutions to customers’ requirements Maintain organized and safe work area, shop tools and service vehicles Complete additional tasks as assigned POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: Education/ Certification: Heavy Truck, Equipment or Diesel Mechanic/Technician Certificate or training preferred Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract – Commercial License considered an asset Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check Experience: 3+ years’ experience working as a Heavy Truck, Equipment or Diesel Technician Experienced with hydraulic and/or electrical work Chassis experience considered an asset Exposure to Street Sweepers, Vacuum Trucks or Refuse equipment is considered an asset Experience setting up and operating complex machinery Experience using MS Office Suite Previous relevant experience may include; Heavy Equipment Technician, Field Service Mechanic, Road Service Technician, Heavy Truck Technician, Diesel Mechanic etc.
