Varsity Basketball Coach

Position Overview

The seasonal Varsity Sports Coach is responsible for leading practices and competitions for the Hawks varsity team in the assigned sport. The Coach teaches sport-specific skills, develops competition strategy, and supports student-athletes in building confidence, teamwork, accountability, and sportsmanship. The Coach collaborates with the Recreation Department, Greenburgh Eleven UFSD, cottage staff, and families to support student-athletes’ academic success, personal development, and athletic growth.

Position Qualifications: New York State coaching certification or temporary coaching certificate, required. CPR, First Aid, and DASA, required. Knowledge and experience in the assigned sport, including rules, scorekeeping, coaching methods, skill development, and competition strategy; ability to teach and motivate youth with varied needs.

Strong organization, communication, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm under pressure; proficiency in Microsoft Office and required recordkeeping systems. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings. Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
