Commercial Dock and Door Technician

Commercial Dock and Door Technician ABOUT THE POSITION D&D Garage Doors is seeking an experienced Commercial Dock and Door Technician to service, troubleshoot, repair, and install commercial overhead doors and loading dock equipment. This position requires strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work safely and independently at customer facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose and repair commercial sectional doors, rolling steel doors, operators, and related hardware.
• Service and repair loading dock equipment, including dock levelers, restraints, seals, and related systems.
• Inspect equipment, identify safety concerns, and recommend appropriate repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational failures.
• Perform preventive maintenance and operational safety checks.
• Read manufacturer specifications and technical diagrams.
• Document service findings, work performed, and parts required.
• Communicate professionally with commercial customers and site contacts.
• Follow company and job-site safety requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant commercial overhead door or loading dock equipment experience strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Familiarity with commercial operators, springs, controls, and dock equipment.
• Ability to independently diagnose problems and complete field repairs.
• Strong customer service and documentation skills.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required. PHYSICAL & WORK REQUIREMENTS
• Full-time field-based work at commercial facilities.
• Physical work involving lifting, climbing, bending, and use of tools and service equipment.
• Ability to work safely around commercial doors and dock machinery.

COMPENSATION

& BENEFITS

• $25.00-$32.00 per hour, based on technical experience and qualifications.
