Press Brake Operator - 6:30am to 3:30pm

Job Summary

Tends and operates press brakes that bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and parts. Essential Job Functions: Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template. Positions work piece against stops or aligns layout marks with die.

Pushes button(s) or depresses pedal to activate machine. Performs operator required safety inspections on a schedule determined by the use of the machine. Performs first piece inspection and random inspections per standard operating procedures set forth by the Quality Assurance department. Unloads processed parts from machine and then places the parts on pallets, or in tubs or racks hand.

Larger parts may require the use of a gib/overhead crane. Removes scrap material from machine places scrap material in scrap containers. Maintains an accurate count of parts produced. Attaches identifying work order with each pallet, tub, or basket. Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.

Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces. Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area. May be required to operate forklifts as specifically designated. Performs other duties as assigned.
